  • Add a pinch of bicarbonate of soda to your icing, this keeps the icing moist and helps when spreading on you cake.
  • Rub bicarbonate of soda onto chicken skin before cooking to make it more crispy.
  • A pinch of bicarb is all you need if your gravy separates.
  • Add a pinch of bicarbonate of soda to your mashed potatoes to make it more fluffy.
  • A pinch of bicarb of soda added to milk will avoid curdling if been boiled.
  • If you love baked beans but have gaseous side effects add a dash of bicarb of soda to eliminate it.
  • Too keep your cauliflower bright white add a teaspoon of bicarb to the water when cooking and it will also cut down cooking odours.
  • Too much vinegar added to a recipe, don’t fret add a pinch of bicarbonate of soda to counteract the excess acidity.
  • When cleaning the inside and outside of poultry use a bit of bicarb in the water you use. Rinse with clean water.
